Best Ever Lasagne Increase the heat by using habanero peppers Ingredients: 11/2 lbs. Italian sausage, cut into rounds 1 can tomato soup 1 can tomato paste 1/2 cup hot ketchup 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 sml. onion, diced 2 tbsp. parsley flakes 2 red chilies, seeded and diced 2 tsp. oregano 2 tsp. ground cayenne 1 tsp. salt&pepper 1 tsp. basil 1/2 tsp. extra hot horseradish For the layers: 8 oz. Lasagne noodles 2 cups cottage cheese 4 eggs, beaten 1 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 tsp. parsley flakes 1 tsp. salt& pepper 2 8oz. pkg.thin sliced mozzerella cheese. |

Method: 1. Preheat oven to 350f (175c) 2. Brown meat slowly. Drain off excess fat.Add next 12 ingredients. Simmer uncovered, about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Cook noodles in boiling,salted water until soft; drain and rinse in cold water. 4. Next combine cottage cheese, eggs, salt& pepper, parsley and parmesan cheese. 5. Place 1/2 noodles in 9"x13" baking dish. Cover with meat sauce, then a layer 1/2 of the mozzarella and 1/2 of the cottage cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce. 6. Bake at 350f (175) for 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes, before cutting into squares. Filling will set slightly. Serve with salad of your choice & french bread. Serves 6-8. |
