EXTRA SPECIAL CABBAGE ROLLS Increase the heat by using habanero peppers Ingredients: 1/2lb. ground beef 1/2lb. ground pork 1 can tomato soup 12 cabbage leaves 3/4 cup cooked rice 2/3 cup milk 1/4 cup onion, finely diced 1 red chili, seeded, diced 1 green chili, seeded, diced 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. parsley flakes 1 tsp. extra hot horseradish 1 tsp. salt&pepper dash of hot pepper sauce. (optional) |

Method: 1.Preheat oven at 350f (175c) 2.Combine rice, milk, onion, chili pepper, pepper sauce, worcestershire sauce, horseradish, parsley flakes and salt&pepper. Mix together. 3. Steam cabbage leaves roughly 3 minutes, or until limp. Drain. Slit heavy vein of leaf about 11/2 - 21/2 inches, depending on each leaf. Mix meat and mixture. Next, spoon in meat mixture into each leaf. Fold in sides, and roll ends over meat. 4. Place cabbage rolls into a casserole dish. Mix together, tomato soup, 1 soupcan water and brown sugar. Pour over cabbage rolls. 5. Bake at 350f (175c) for 1-11/2 hrs. Serves 6-8. |
