SIZZLING SWISS STEAK This recipe is spicy! Ingredients : 2Lbs round steak 2 cups water 2 tbsp. cooking oil 1 red chili, seeded, diced 1 green chili, seeded, diced 1 large tomato, into wedges 1 large onion, diced 1 celery stalk, sliced 1 carrot, sliced into rounds 1 can condensed tomato soup cup hot ketchup cup green beans cup yellow beans 1tsp. parsley flakes 1tsp. basil 1tsp. cayenne 1tsp. seasoned salt 1 tsp. each of ground cumin & coriander 1 tsp. steak seasoning 1 tsp. black pepper |

Method: 1.Cut steak up into cubes. In a large fry pan with lid, add oil. Cook on medium heat. Brown meat in cooking oil for 10 minutes. Then simmer on low heat, while preparing the vegetables. 2.Clean vegetables and slice carrot, celery, green & yellow beans. Slice tomato into wedges. Dice up remaining vegetables, and then add all vegetables, except for the carrot, celery, green & yellow beans, into fry pan. Simmer until vegetables are soft. 3. Introduce tomato soup and hot ketchup. Stir. Add water slowly. Continue stirring. Then add rest of the vegetables. 4. Finally add parsley flakes, basil, seasoned salt, black pepper and rest of the spices. Stir. Cover with lid. Simmer on low heat for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally. If mixture dries out, add more water. Increase the heat by adding more chillies. Serves 4 - 6. Serve with rice and salad. |
